Elderflower and gin are a perfect pairing for spring cocktails. Light, floral and elegant, these simple cocktail recipes are ideal for sipping in the Spring, and make a great addition to your wedding drinks reception.
The recipes below are for 1 serving, but the cocktails can also be made in batches (adjust the quantities as required).
Elderflower Gin Fizz
To create this cocktail, you’ll need:
- 35ml Gin
- 15ml Elderflower Syrup*
- 15ml Lemon Juice
- 75ml Sparkling Wine
- Lemon wheel and flowers, to garnish
- Ice
Method:
- Add the first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.
- Strain into a rocks glass over ice, then top up with sparkling wine and garnish.
Elderflower Gin Sour
To create this cocktail, you’ll need:
- 60ml Gin
- 20ml Elderflower Syrup
- 15ml Lemon Juice
- 1 Egg White
- Orange peel and flowers, to garnish
Method:
- Add all the ingredients in a shaker without ice and shake well, making sure the shaker is firmly held.
- Open the shaker and add ice and shake a second time.
- Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with an orange peel or edible flowers.
Summer Berry Highball
To create this cocktail, you’ll need:
- 1 Strawberry
- 3 Raspberries
- 50ml Gin
- 15ml Elderflower Syrup
- 15ml Lime Juice
- 45ml Apple Juice
- 50ml Soda Water
- Mint and raspberries, to garnish
Method:
- Add the raspberries and strawberry to a cocktail shaker and gently muddle them.
- Add the gin, elderflower syrup, lime juice, apple juice with ice and shake well.
- Strain into a Highball glass over ice and top with soda.
- Garnish with raspberries and mint.
Non-Alcoholic Variation
For a non-alcoholic option, mix Elderflower cordial with sparkling water. Add mint and a twist of lime.
